Super Sweet!

Due to our afternoon of thunderstorms I was indoors working on making cards and gift card holders. I actually planned on making one gift card holder but ended making two, as well as three greeting cards. Yay!

I ran out of time to take photos of all my new items, but I managed to do one gift card holder which is now up for sale on Etsy. I'd say it's pretty unique!

Over the next day or two I will be showing my other creations, two of which are Halloween cards, and one of those is completely different from my usual style ~ but I like how it turned out.

Hi :)

The last few days have been pretty busy here between my anniversary, Zachary returning home from camp, and school shopping. I have made the time to do a few projects though, the first being this cool Halloween card I've listed on Etsy.

My other project was to try and create SOMETHING using Adobe Photoshop. I've had this program for awhile now, and I continue to TRY and do something with it, but nothing ever works. This month my Creating Keepsakes magazine had a tutorial on how to create a little collage. Even with the directions it still took me quite awhile to complete it but I DID IT! I even figured out how to save it in JPEG format instead of PSD format. Now I just have to remember the steps so I can do it again.

I'm going to print this out in 4x6 size and use it for a scrapbook page. I also want to do a similar one for Autumn with different photos of her from this summer showing her running around with barefeet, completely covered in dirt, and REALLY messy hair. The title of this one is going to be "Wild Child".

One more week until school begins and I have more time to do this stuff!!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 9 Hearts for 9 Years!

Today is mine and Keith's Ninth Wedding Anniversary! I can't believe that it has been nine years that we have been married ~ where does the time go? We don't have many photos together, but here is one from last fall that so happens to be another one of my lovely self-portraits! (I think it's so cute that you can see Autumn in the backseat!)

This morning Autumn and I have a beach playdate with Rachel and her mom Karen. Autumn has gone to school with Rachel for the last two years, but this fall they will go to different schools :(

This afternoon my favorite boy in the entire world is FINALLY coming home from camp to stay! I don't care how much dirty laundry he brings back, I just can't wait!!

And then tonight Keith and I are going out to dinner ALONE to celebrate our anniversary. How great is that?!

And somewhere in between all of that Taryne has piano lessons, and I need to make something for the kids to eat tonight. Thank goodness for Diet Coke!

Hot HoT HOT!

All summer long the weather around here has been cooler than normal. It has actually been kind of nice. But now we are in a heat wave, and today is going to be the hottest day we've had since June 2008. (No I don't keep track ~ I just saw this on the news.) Hopefully once school starts back up it won't be this hot. I remember wearing new jeans and long sleeves on my first day back, even if it was going to be sweltering hot. I can still feel how wrong that felt with my pants and sleeves sticking to my arms and legs. Yuck. Is there anyone out there enjoying nice cool weather today?

Last night I managed to complete another card which I've added to my Etsy shop. This one is very colorful. I think the paper "flower" and the fringe add a unique touch. What do you think?

As I was heading outdoors to take photos of this card I saw this cute wild bunny in out yard. I got kind of close and took this photo. I think it's strategy was to stay as still as possible so that I wouldn't see it. It was frozen in place until the cat thought she could actually catch it and tried to sneak up on it. Then in a flash it was gone. (Yeah I know that photo is a bit blurry ~ whenever I'm in a hurry to take a photo before the moment passes this is what happens.)

Well I'm off to begin my day.

Have a good one!

Cozy Card

Happy Monday!

Last night I completed and listed for sale on Etsy this cozy card. It is a congratulations on your new home card that is perfect for sending out to someone special, or to accompany a housewarming gift. I think it's cozy because of the fabric paper I've used in place of regular patterned paper. This is the coolest stuff I've used in awhile. Take a look!

Today I am going shoe shopping with the girls. I am not particularly looking forward to this as Taryne is extrememly indecisive, and Autumn is extremely picky. I anticipate being in the store for an hour ~ the longest hour of my life. All I can hope for is that we actually leave the store with shoes, because if I have to repeat the torturous process over again in another store I won't like it very much!
